Project Description

Brabo 1, the first PPP project for mobility, was awarded to THV Silvius, which included Frateur – De Pourcq. The work was completed according to a DBFM contract, i.e. the consortium takes on responsibility for the design, build and financing of the project, as well as the maintenance over 25 years (tram section) or 35 years (non-tram section).

The Brabo 1 project comprised the following components:

  • Tram line Deurne – Wijnegem
  • Tram line Mortsel – Boechout
  • Depot for 53 trams – including sand-fill installation, examination pit, tram washing facility and vacuum installation.

This meant the following work for FDP:

  • Track design
  • Installation of a hybrid track system (12,000m) on the Deurne – Wijnegem and Mortsel – Boechout lines (concrete tram/bus track)
  • Installation of tracks on bridge deck (120m)
  • Installation of tracks on pre-tensioned elastic structure (250m)
  • Installation of tracks and track systems for new tram depot in Deurne:
  • Installation of resting tracks (2,800m)
  • Installation of access tracks (475m)
  • Installation of tracks in workshop (385m)
  • Installation of track systems (84 items): 76 point switches and 8 crossings
  • Work on catenary system
  • Electro-mechanical tasks
